"In the wide, wild world of adventuring, power is not always about reaching ever-higher peaks—it’s about finding depth in limitation. E6 is not a ceiling; it's a new horizon. It is where characters cease to grow tall, and begin to grow deep."
Haze features a customized version of the E6 system, a variant of Dungeons & Dragons where level progression halts at level 6. Instead advancement after 6th takes a new form, offering a different type of nuanced and meaningful long-term development.
Once a character reaches level 6 in class levels (ECL modifiers from races do not count toward this), they officially enter E6 status. A +2 ECL race still requires 6 actual class levels before qualifying.
Upon qualifying, you’ll gain access to the E6 Menu. The E6 menu is used to spend Epic XP (EEXP) on things like perks, feats and ability score improvements.
Once you've reached 6th level, the rules of advancement change in how your character continues to grow in power.
Upon reaching E6, you no longer gain XP from the following sources:
EEXP must instead be earned through action.
The E6 Menu allows you to spend your hard-earned EEXP on a variety of enhancements such as
Improving your ability scores comes with escalating cost, both in terms of the stat's current value and how many times you’ve increased any attribute already.
Note: For every previous attribute increase done in E6, the cost increases by 1,000 EEXP regardless of which stat was improved.
Feats and traits range from 2,000—8,000 EEXP, with cost influenced by rarity, power, and narrative impact. Some are feats you could have chosen at level-up, others are exclusive to E6—custom-designed to emulate the flavor and function of prestige classes or more niche builds.
Note: For every previous feat or trait you purchase in E6 adds 1,000 EEXP to the cost of any future feat or trait purchases while in E6.
Once EEXP is spent, it’s gone. Choose wisely.
We reserve the right to adjust prices or options in the future to improve balance and gameplay. This includes reducing the cost of abilities you've already purchased or introducing new options that may have been unavailable at the time.
Warning: There are no retroactive refunds for changes made after your purchase.
