When a character reaches 0 HP, they enter a 'bleeding out' state. Other players can help to stop the bleeding; failure to do so results in permanent death, and the character enters The Fugue with no return.

command to take one from a downed companion.Being revived from a 'bleeding out' state will impart a near-death debuff on your character, slowing you down and making you very vulnerable for a period of time. Effects include:
It's time to rest up!
Bleeding out does not always mean the end is coming.
Cassus Mortem or "Empty Death," is a term used to describe when a death under less-than-ideal circumstances.
In most cases, so long as the underlying framework for the death had an in-character rationale, the resulting death is final.
For example, a player idling in the forest or a character "lagging out" is unlikely to be resurrected.
While death due to a spawn happening at different times of day or a spawn that was pulled into a different zone from another player (in an attempt to flee, not griefing/bypassing PK rules) can be less than ideal, we have made a server policy regarding these deaths below:
Any player who does not log into the game for a consecutive period of 30-60 days will risk losing their character.
Should you find yourself unable to access the game for an extended period, a process has been implemented for reclaiming your character under certain circumstances.
Players who have lost their characters due to inactivity may submit a request to regain them via the Discord's Ticket system. This request should include a compelling story that explains the character's disappearance from the world.
All requests will be subject to DM team approval. We believe that storytelling is at the heart of our gaming experience, and we encourage players to weave their tales within Haze.
The inactivity timer will not reset from just quick logins, you must login and actually play/interact with the server in a meaningful way or risk the inactivity timer retiring the character.
Death is not the end! Haze is best experienced through the lens of many different characters.
Death, especially for long-lived characters, can be a difficult thing to get over - which is totally fine! While surviving is always a priority, the death of one character always opens the door to a brand-new, fresh experience.
Take the time you need to recover, and try your best not to see the death of one character as the end of the Haze Experience.
