Barbarians are brave, even reckless warriors, whose great strength and heartiness make them well-suited for adventure. Rejecting the traditions of arms training and discipline typical of fighters, Barbarians tap into a powerful rage that makes them stronger, tougher, and better able to withstand attacks. Although they can only muster this rage a few times per day, it is usually enough to turn the tide of battle. Constant exposure to danger also grants them a sort of "sixth sense," allowing them to sense danger and dodge attacks, while their legendary stamina lets them run tirelessly.
Barbarians can enter a rage that temporarily enhances their combat abilities. This rage has been modified in this version to include the following:
Damage Reduction (DR): While raging, a Barbarian gains DR equal to their Barbarian level, with a total absorption of 5 x Barbarian level.
Limitations: This caps out at level 5, providing 5/+1 DR with a max absorption of 25 HP.
Heavy Armor Restriction: Barbarians cannot rage while wearing any form of heavy armor, including Tower Shields, as they require the Heavy Armor Proficiency.
Barbarians can choose to expand their rage abilities by expending a feat upon leveling up. The available options include:
When a Barbarian takes 3 HP or more damage, they will roll a Fortitude save against DC 30 - Damage Taken
. On a successful roll, they regain a spent rage charge.
